At a recent meeting, the Huron County Health Unit received a presentation they are considering following the pause in the investigation they had started regarding health issues believed to be turbine related. This article provides an outline of what was presented.

We heard last week from a neighbor that the Wynne government has approved 180 wind turbines to be built in the water from Bayfield to Grand Bend. I have not seen anything in the news about it and am very concerned if this comes into thruition. Another neighbor suggested that the great lakes are part of a federal issue. If so, how could the Wynne gov’t make that decision?
Looking for some direction. Do you have any news?

Currently there is a moratorium by the Province on turbines in the Great Lakes. In spite of that, there are developments poised to move, should it be removed. The moratorium has previously been placed or lifted to meet political needs of the provincial government. At our August meeting a brief overview of proposed projects was presented. We continue to remind members to be stay abreast of changes and be mindful of anyone asking for access to the beach for testing, measuring etc. BSRA will continue to follow this as closely as possible as it is clearly of concern to all of us.
